Recently, the benchmark testing site revealed the main specifications of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
According to rumors, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Fold 6 along with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in July, succeeding the Galaxy Z 5 generation. However, the latest rumors about the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are not very positive.
The 2024 flagship only has 8GB RAM?
According to the Geekbench database, last year's Galaxy Z Flip 5 carries model number SM-F731U. Therefore, the symbol SM-F741U could be this year's Galaxy Z Flip 6. Previously, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 prototype was discovered to have only 8GB of RAM (of which only 6.75 gigabytes were user accessible). Of course, it is still possible that Samsung will release a 12GB RAM version for the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Geekbench also "confirmed" the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Interestingly, even if the Android 14 software is not yet complete, this SM-F741U device has achieved a higher Vulkan score significantly compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, while also "defeating" the Galaxy S24 Ultra in terms of performance (theoretically).
Will Galaxy Z Flip 6 use Exynos chip?
In fact, Samsung's internal Exynos 2400 SoC chip is not much slower than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 "monster chip". Users may not notice the difference between the two Galaxy Z Fold 6 models in terms of actual performance.
However, from a perception standpoint, it will be very difficult for Samsung to convince potential Galaxy Z Flip 6 buyers that the phone is a significant upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with its Exynos chip and 8GB RAM option remaining unchanged.
Additionally, according to rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will retain the familiar design and charging speed. In return, Samsung is planning to increase the battery capacity for the clamshell-style folding screen smartphone, from 3,700 to about 4,000mAh. And yet, the product is expected to upgrade the two 12MP cameras of the predecessor Galaxy Z Flip 5.
