Apple is strictly controlling the sale of iPhones on TikTok Shop, especially prohibiting sales during livestreams.
Around the beginning of June 2024, Apple sent an email to its authorized retailers (AAR) in Vietnam to warn and request to stop selling iPhones on TikTok Shop, especially livestream sales. The reason is said to be that such sales affect the Apple brand, a brand that is inherently high-end, luxurious and maintains good prices.
However, after just a few weeks, according to information from media representatives of AARs in Vietnam, there are 3 AARs that have been allowed by Apple to sell iPhones on TikTok Shop but still note that they do not sell in livestreams, including FPT Shop - F.Studio by FPT, Viettel Store and Shop Dunk. Since only 3 AARs are allowed, the other AARs must stay out of the game.
As soon as Apple officially granted permission to open sales on the TikTok Shop platform, Mr. Phan Tran Thanh - Deputy Director of Apple products said: "We very much appreciate the trust from Apple and appreciate this consensus. This is a solid steppingstone for F.Studio by FPT to continue bringing products in the Apple ecosystem to customers in the most convenient way."
Marking this important milestone, from June 20, F.Studio by FPT strongly offers incentives for products in the Apple ecosystem. Accordingly, customers will receive an additional 8% discount voucher, up to 1.9 million VND, when choosing Apple products at the TikTok Shop booth.
Previously, in May 2024, YouNet ECI recorded 1,922 iPhones sold from FPT Shop and F.Studio by FPT stores on TikTok Shop, increasing revenue by 240% compared to the previous month, this number shows the huge potential of the e-commerce market on TikTok, especially for Apple's high-end technology products.
A representative of an AAR (who asked to remain anonymous) who was not allowed by Apple to sell iPhones on TikTok Shop revealed that selling iPhones on TikTok Shop is mainly driven by "price gouging" so sales may increase but profits are almost the same.
