Recently, Apple applied for a patent on a flexible back design that can be integrated on the iPhone.
Apple filing a patent application is often a sign that the company is researching and developing new ideas. However, this does not mean that those ideas will definitely be developed into products.
According to Apple patent experts at Patently Apple, the company has just filed a patent application for a new back design innovation. This new design allows iPhone users to flexibly change the back of the phone with back panels that come with different features, to suit their needs.
For example, using magnets on the back (from the iPhone 12 series and above, allowing connection to MagSafe accessories), iPhone users can remove the existing back of their iOS device and replace it. with a new panel. This panel can be integrated with a better speaker system or a sensor to check the user's blood sugar index.
This cover can also be used to protect iPhone models from drops, designed to push out and add protruding sidewalls, to minimize the impact when the device falls straight down. In addition to protection, the cover also integrates other additional features such as: backup battery or health monitoring device, additional camera, even an auxiliary screen.
Last year, Apple was granted more than 2,536 patents, an increase of 676 patents granted in 2011. This shows that the "Apple House" is continuously actively researching and developing new technologies.
