Many users have reported that the S25 Ultra and S25+ charge slowly or even stop charging when using a 45W fast charger.
On Reddit and the Samsung Community, many people have complained about the slow charging of the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra, even though the charger still works fine on previous Samsung devices. This problem is not only happening with third-party chargers but also appears for those who buy the 45W charger and genuine cable.
Anthara shared on the Samsung Community forum: "I have a problem with the S25 Plus. The first two charging cycles worked fine. The problem started from the third cycle. With the 5A cable that comes with the 45W charger, the phone keeps switching between charging and not charging." Meanwhile, Dennytd8 said: "I just took the phone out of the box, it charged 45%, but it didn't fast charge. I'm using the cable that came with the phone and the original fast charger."
On Reddit, Brangusler also said he didn't think this error would appear on a flagship smartphone. According to some users, to solve the above situation, they had to turn off the fast-charging feature in the settings to maintain stable charging even though the speed was slower.
Samsung's X account in Italy confirmed the bug when replying to a user that the problem will be fixed in an upcoming software update and advised users to use the Galaxy S25 cable with a capacity of 3A instead of 5A supporting 45W in the meantime.
The problem does not affect the standard Galaxy S25 version because it only supports a capacity of 25W. According to PhoneArena, it is normal for errors to appear on newly launched smartphones. However, the error of the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra is considered "quite strange" because Samsung has used this charging standard on the device for 5 years, from the Galaxy S20 generation onwards.
In addition to the fast-charging problem, the Galaxy S25 series also encountered some scattered errors such as overheating problems.
