One of the prominent applications of AI on smartphones is the ability to edit photos, but the Honor Magic 7 Pro does it even better.
In addition to object removal, upgrading and improving images is also becoming a popular trend. Although smartphones are equipped with high-resolution sensors, this feature can also improve any photo that users download from the internet or store on their computers, thereby bringing a great experience to users.
Honor recently introduced an exciting initiative to revive old photos of Manchester United - one of the most storied clubs in England - through AI upscaling. The event was held to celebrate the 115th anniversary of Old Trafford, the legendary home of the English football club. Through a partnership with Qualcomm, Honor has demonstrated that Photo Upscale can bring life to historical photos, while revealing details that were previously difficult to see.
Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and integrated with an advanced AI image signal processor (ISP), the Honor Magic 7 Pro can improve the quality of old photos to an unbelievable level.
Judd Heape, Vice President of Qualcomm, emphasized the important role of Snapdragon 8 Elite in supporting powerful AI-driven photography features. Meanwhile, Wei Luo, head of Honor's image processing department, said that this technology is not just about improving images, but also helping to connect people with magical moments in the past, preserving history clearly.
The Honor Magic 7 Pro is a smartphone with a large display with a pill-shaped cutout, along with a circular camera module on the back, including a 50MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The phone is also equipped with a 5,850mAh Si/C battery (5,270mAh for the European market), supports 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, and is IP68/IP69 dust and water resistant.
The show featured before and after comparisons of iconic Manchester United photos, including Mark Hughes' legendary goal against Norwich City in the club's first Premier League title season.
Manchester United historian Jason Leach shared personal memories associated with these images, pointing out details like construction beams and cranes that were once obscured but have now been highlighted thanks to AI enhancement technology.
