The massive specifications of the foldable iPhone are gradually revealed.

The latest information from the X HaYaO account says that Apple's first foldable iPhone has begun to take shape with impressive specifications.

Accordingly, this device will have a book-shaped folding design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6. The inner screen of the foldable iPhone is expected to be 12 inches in size, larger than previous predictions. When folded, the phone will be 9.2 mm thick and when opened, the thickness will decrease to 4.6 mm. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 5.6 mm thick when opened and 12.1 mm thick when folded.

One notable point is that the left rear of the device has a large hinge mechanism. The display will be supplied by Samsung, with UTG Lens technology being developed specifically for Apple. This could be a variation of the ultra-thin glass that Samsung uses for bendable products. The hinge of the device will be designed by Apple, with the middle frame made of aluminum.

This foldable iPhone will be equipped with a dual rear camera system, including a main camera and a wide-angle camera, both using a glass-plastic hybrid lens like Apple's current flagship smartphones. For the front camera, metalens technology could be introduced on the iPhone 17 to reduce weight and free up space for other components.

In addition, the foldable iPhone could be equipped with two batteries with a combined capacity of up to 5,000 mAh, using 3D stacking technology to optimize size without reducing capacity.

The device is expected to launch in the fall of 2026, around the same time as the iPhone 18, according to sources. A foldable iPad-MacBook hybrid will also be announced in 2027.

Apple aims to sell 8-10 million foldable iPhones in 2026 and 20 million in 2027, while Samsung is expected to produce only 5 million foldable smartphones this year. This suggests that Apple is counting on strong support from iOS fans who have been patiently waiting for an official foldable iPhone product.
