Former German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and his wife, former tennis star Ana Ivanovic, are reportedly living apart due to a marital crisis.
According to German newspaper Bunte, the powerful sports couple ended their relationship two months ago and are said to have been living separately. The former Manchester United star travels frequently for work but lives mainly in Munich, while Ana Ivanovic and her three sons return to her hometown of Belgrade, Serbia, 1,600 km away. The mother and three children live in an apartment near her parents' house, the source said.
Bild newspaper said that the former German player and his wife began to have tension after not spending enough time together. On their personal pages, the two still have photos together, but have rarely posted moments together since the beginning of the year.
The Schweinsteiger couple has not commented on the breakup rumors. The management team said the couple does not discuss private matters. Last summer, the former German star attracted attention when he commented on his girlfriend C. Ronaldo. He was said to be distracted by Georgina Rodriguez's appearance.
The once-beautiful couple met in 2014. Shortly after, Schweinsteiger proposed to the tennis beauty queen in London. The couple got married in July 2016, less than half a year after Ivanovic retired, and then welcomed three sons. The beauty has an impressive tennis career with the 2008 Roland Garros championship and was ranked number one in the world that same year.
Meanwhile, Bastian Schweinsteiger is also a famous name in the football world with a flourishing 18-year career. He spent most of his career with Bayern Munich, winning 8 Bundesliga titles, 7 German Cups, and a Champions League. Schweinsteiger moved to MU in 2015, winning the League Cup, FA Cup, and Europa League. He then moved to the US to play for the Chicago Fire in 2017 and retired there in 2019.
In the national team jersey, the talented former midfielder played 121 times and was one of the key faces in the German squad that won the 2014 World Cup. Schweinsteiger recently had a business trip to Vietnam from April 8 to April 12, currently in Jakarta, Indonesia.
