The funeral of Hollywood legend Gene Hackman and pianist Betsy Arakawa comes weeks after the couple's bodies were discovered at their home in Santa Fe.

The deaths of the Oscar-winning couple shocked the world when their bodies were found in two rooms of their private mansion on February 26. One of their three dogs was found dead in a kennel next to Betsy Arakawa in the bathroom. Police said the 95-year-old actor and the 62-year-old pianist had been dead for more than a week before being discovered by a home maintenance worker.

An autopsy and investigation released in March determined that Betsy Arakawa died of hantavirus pneumonia - a rare respiratory disease caused by the Hantavirus, which is transmitted by rodents. Gene Hackman died a few days after his wife from heart disease, high blood pressure and Alzheimer's disease. Medical experts believe Hackman may not have known his wife had died from his Alzheimer's disease.

Video taken by police as they approached the house on February 26 showed live and dead rats and their droppings in three garages, two outbuildings and a storage room on the property. The main house showed no signs of rodents, but furniture was in disarray.
