Actor Nicky Katt, known for films like 'Dazed and Confused and Boston Public', passed away on April 8.
The information was confirmed by John Sloss - Nicky Katt's legal representative - to the US media on April 12. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Nicky Katt was born on May 11, 1970, and had many prominent roles in both film and television throughout the 1990s and 2000s. His most memorable role was Clint Bruno, a school bully in the classic teen film Dazed and Confused (1993) directed by Richard Linklater. The work brought many young stars of that time such as Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck closer to the public.
He has appeared in a number of famous films such as Boiler Room (2000), Full Frontal (2002) with Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt, as well as the Emmy-winning TV series Behind the Candelabra (2013), about the life of artist Liberace.
Full Frontal director Steven Soderbergh once commented that Nicky Katt is an actor who is "absolutely fearless" when it comes to taking on complex and controversial roles.
On the small screen, Katt made an impression as geology teacher Harry Senate in the first three seasons of the Fox series Boston Public. He also appeared in an episode of Friends (1996), playing a notable supporting role alongside main characters Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer) and Chandler Bing (played by Matthew Perry). Despite his brief appearance, Katt is remembered for his comedic acting.
Katt's final role in his career came in 2018, when he appeared in an episode of the Hulu comedy series Casual.
In real life, Nicky Katt lives a rather private life, rarely sharing his personal life with the public. The actor was married to Annie Morse from 1999 to 2001. Although he did not achieve the fame of many of his contemporaries, Katt is considered a talented actor, always bringing psychological depth to the supporting characters he plays.
