Ferrari's First Electric Car - Elettrica Unexpectedly Revealed On Test Track, Fascinating Design.

Ferrari has just confirmed that it will launch its first-ever electric car, Elettrica, on October 9.

The car is called “Ferrari Elettrica”, marking the Italian supercar company’s strong transition to the electric car era. At the recent annual general meeting of shareholders, Ferrari Chairman John Elkann first mentioned the name “Ferrari Elettrica” when sharing about the company’s plan to launch its first electric car.

Although it is not clear whether this is the official commercial name or not, many experts believe that it is very likely because Ferrari has a tradition of naming in Italian, similar to the recently launched 12Cilindri (12-cylinder) model.

The word “Elettrica” in Italian means “electric”, a simple but powerful name, clearly showing the electrification strategic direction that Ferrari has pursued for many years. According to Chairman John Elkann, all the key components of the Ferrari Elettrica, such as the battery, electric axle, inverter and motor, will be developed and handcrafted right at the Maranello headquarters, Ferrari's technological heart.

This is a testament to the commitment to maintaining the quality and craftsmanship that is typical of Ferrari, even when entering the world of electric vehicles. Since 2023, Ferrari has accelerated its investment in EV technology and filed a number of important patents.

Notably, the virtual gearbox technology allows simulating the feeling of shifting gears like a car using an internal combustion engine through the gearshift paddles or automatically based on the driver's behavior. In addition, the company has also developed a simulated engine sound system, aiming to create a more realistic and emotional driving experience for users.

Based on the prototype image that appeared during the test run, the Ferrari Elettrica is determined to have a four-door sports crossover body design, with a powerful hatchback-style rear end. Despite being the first pure electric car, the Elettrica still retains the aerodynamic lines and design DNA typical of the Prancing Horse brand.

The expected starting price is no less than 500,000 USD (more than 13 billion VND), showing that the Ferrari Elettrica will be a product in the super luxury segment, targeting customers who are passionate about technology and high performance but still want to own the traditional Ferrari quality.

The launch of the first EV model is not only an important milestone for Ferrari but also reflects the inevitable change in the global automotive industry. The Italian supercar company has been preparing for this moment for many years, starting with the application of electrification technology on F1 racing cars, to hybrid supercars such as LaFerrari, SF90 Stradale, or recently the 296 GTB.

The global launch event on October 9, 2025, promises to create a new wave in the supercar industry and affirm Ferrari's position in the electrification era.
