Rare McLaren P1 Carbon Series appears on auction floor: Million-dollar speed masterpiece makes car enthusiasts crazy.

McLaren P1 Carbon Series with 87 km odometer is being offered for sale at a price of about 3.1 million USD.

McLaren P1 is 1 of 3 cars in the "Holy Trinity" of supercars in the early 2010s, such as Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. This supercar model is one of 5 cars produced globally for sale in Dubai.

McLaren P1 has a total of 375 units produced, not counting the racing version. The rarest of them is the P1 Carbon Series, with only 5 units produced worldwide. After many years of hiding, the McLaren P1 Carbon Series has recently been offered for sale in Dubai, UAE.

P1 Carbon Series is a special edition with a limited quantity; each car is made based on a P1 that already has an owner, and the owner returns the car to the factory. McLaren planned to produce 20 P1 Carbon Series cars, but only five were ever built. McLaren Special Operations (MSO) took the tuning and body kit work to the P1.

While all P1s have carbon fiber bodies and chassis, the Carbon Series takes things a step further with exposed carbon fiber. Exposed carbon fiber is more difficult to mass produce than painted parts, as they require not only structural integrity but also aesthetic perfection.

The new part costs $200,000, and McLaren has delivered at least one of the five cars with the paint job. The one introduced in Geneva in 2016 was Lio Blue. The P1 Carbon Series comes standard with 10-spoke wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. The rims, brake calipers, and some exterior details are painted red.

The P1 Carbon Series logo appears on the sides of the car and below the rear wing. Other MSO upgrades to the P1 Carbon Series include gloss black wheels and 24-karat gold heat shields similar to the F1. The interior is upholstered in carbon black Alcantara with contrasting blue stitching.

This powerful P1 is the spiritual descendant of the legendary F1, and one of the first hybrid supercars, adding an additional 177 horsepower to the 737 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque from the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

What makes this car special is not just the total combined power of 916 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, or the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, or a top speed exceeding 321 km/h. The car was brought into the factory for an upgrade in 2016 and sold in 2011 with an impressive 86.9 km on the odometer.

Although the P1 is considered the best-performing supercar ever made, with the above odometer, for the owner, this is a work of art. Although the car is not used on the road, it has been upgraded with some accessories. A few years ago, McLaren announced the second-generation high-performance battery for the P1.

The new battery pack weighs 56.25 kg (124 pounds) compared to the original 106.14 kg (234 pounds) for better handling and acceleration. The upgraded battery pack has improved acceleration, cutting 0.4 seconds off the 0-299 km/h test in 16.5 seconds, and the power output is unchanged.

The new battery pack has a lower capacity, reducing the pure electric range from 12.07 km (7.5 miles) to 3 km (1.9 miles). The new battery pack costs $156,700 and comes with a six-year warranty. The almost-unused British supercar is being offered in Dubai for AED 11,499,995, or $3.1 million.
