HMD Global, the company behind Nokia brand phones, has released a new version of the Nokia 105 (2024) feature phone.
This release is essentially a rebranded version of the HMD 105 that launched in early June but with the important addition of wired headphones included in the box.
The Nokia 105 (2024) sticks to the formula that has made feature phones popular: simplicity and reliability. It has a compact design with a 2-inch screen (120 x 160 pixels) perfect for basic needs like calling and texting. Inside, users will find a modest 4MB of internal memory that can be expanded via a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
Despite its modest specs, the Nokia 105 (2024) boasts surprisingly long battery life. The 1000 mAh removable battery promises up to 18 days of standby time, making it a great choice for users who prioritize functionality over constant charging. Charging is handled via a microUSB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack allowing for easy connection to the included headphones or any other compatible headset.
The phone also has a solid build quality with a sturdy internal frame. Other features include FM radio, MP3 player, LED flashlight, storage space for up to 2,000 contacts and the classic Snake game. It comes in Charcoal, Purple or Blue colors.
An interesting difference compared to the HMD 105 is the slightly reduced water resistance. The Nokia 105 (2024) has an IP52 rating, providing protection against dust and light splashes of water. This is a slight step down from the IP54 rating of the HMD 105. However, the addition of headphones in the box may be a worthy trade-off for some users.
Although the Nokia 105 (2024) does not offer internet connectivity or advanced smartphone features, it caters to a specific segment. This is a phone built for essential communication, with a long-lasting battery and durable design.
