iPhone 16 will be the first smartphone equipped with Samsung's best technology

According to the latest report from Korea, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be Apple's first smartphones to use Samsung's high-performance "M14" OLED panels.

ETNews reports that Samsung's "M" OLED panel line is designed specifically for high-end smartphone models, in which "14" is a number representing the number of high-performance materials used to produce them. The M14 is the first of its kind, developed to deliver exceptional brightness and long life.

According to sources, Samsung has ordered M14 materials and is preparing to mass produce these panels in the second half of this year to supply Apple's iPhone 16 Pro models. The Google Pixel 9 is said to be the only other device to use this high-performance panel in 2024.

A previous report from China claimed that this year's iPhone 16 Pro models will have a standard SDR brightness of up to 1,200 nits - a 20% increase over current models - so Samsung's new panel could be the reasons for the expected improvement. However, the maximum HDR brightness is expected to remain the same at 1,600 nits, similar to the current iPhone 15 Pro screen.

Another rumor last year suggested that all iPhone 16 models would use new micro-lens OLED display technology to improve brightness and reduce power consumption, although it's unclear whether this technology is related. directly related to the M14 panel or not.

Many sources say the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a larger screen size than the iPhone 15 Pro. Specifically, iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.27-inch screen (approximately 6.3 inches), while iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a 6.85-inch screen (approximately 6.9 inches).

Like previous years, Apple plans to launch the iPhone 16 series in the fall, around mid-September.
