A user has turned the Galaxy Watch 5 into a mini gaming console, running some heavy graphics games well, causing a stir in the online community.
Recently, a Reddit user with the nickname ZenonDesingk surprised the online community by turning his Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatch into a "mini gaming console". He shared images showing that this watch can smoothly run famous PC games such as God of War, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and even Forza Horizon 4 via Steam Link.
Gaming on a small device like the Galaxy Watch 5 may sound unbelievable, but ZenonDesingk proved otherwise. Initially, he was disappointed with the watch's limited gaming app store. However, undeterred, he researched tricks to expand the device's gaming capabilities.
After trying various methods such as installing APK files via Bluetooth and browser without success, ZenonDesingk turned to using ADB and Bugjaeger tools to transfer files from his phone to his watch over Wi-Fi. After some tweaking, including changing the DPI settings, he successfully installed a PSP emulator.
When playing games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Mortal Kombat, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, the Galaxy Watch5 can achieve a frame rate of around 60fps. Notably, the God of War game also runs at 30fps on this watch. For a better gaming experience, ZenonDesingk connected a Bluetooth controller to the watch. The image of the Galaxy Watch 5 placed on a stand in front of the screen, running God of War, has attracted attention and impressed many people.
Although the Galaxy Watch 5 is not designed to be a dedicated gaming device, the limitations of screen size and battery capacity cannot deny the impressive processing capabilities of this smartwatch. ZenonDesingk's creativity has surprised the technology community.
