Xiaomi is getting serious about AI-powered computing.
In a recent livestream, the company's president, Lu Weibing, announced that they will soon be introducing their first AI PC. While the official name of the product has not been announced, Lu Weibing said that the PC will be equipped with an impressive 99Wh battery, designed to comply with airline regulations on portable electronic devices.
The announcement comes just days after Ma Zhiyu, product marketing director at Xiaomi Communications Technology, shared images of the packaging of a new Redmi-branded laptop. The device could be the Redmi Book Pro 2025, which is rumored to be powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor.
The upcoming Redmi laptop is expected to be deeply integrated with Xiaomi HyperOS Smart Connect, allowing seamless interaction with the company's ecosystem of smartphones, tablets, and smart home devices. It will also come pre-installed with Xiao AI Assistant and Xiaomi PC Manager, promising an optimized software experience for work and automation thanks to AI.
In addition to AI support, leaked specifications suggest that the laptop will also have impressive gaming capabilities. Ma Zhiyu has published a performance benchmark while running Black Myth: Wukong, one of the popular action RPGs. The laptop achieved an average frame rate of 67 fps, peaked at 75 fps, and never dropped below 59 fps. These numbers indicate that the device has an efficient cooling system and a powerful GPU.
