Former England captain David Beckham has said there is a 'heartbreaking' thing going on regarding his children as he approaches his 50th birthday.
Former midfielder David Beckham appeared on the cover of Men's Health magazine with a toned body at the age of 50. He revealed his training regime and family life in the interview.
Becks said it was 'heartbreaking' to see his children leave the house one by one. 'We used to have four children in the house, now we have one. I miss being able to nag them about wet towels on the bedroom floor,' he confided.
However, he also said that his sons often go out drinking with him, which helps him ease the sadness when they are no longer at home. The Becks have three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, who have all grown up and left home to pursue their own careers. Only the youngest, Harper, 13, still lives at home with her parents.
The former England star celebrated his 50th birthday in early May. He said turning 50 doesn't bother him. 'People keep asking me about it like it's a big deal. As long as I'm healthy and my family are healthy, that's all I care about,' Becks told Men's Health.
He added: 'I'm really happy. I have a business and a great family. My kids work hard, and they all have passions, which is important to me.
Becks also boasts that his body 'feels better than ever'. His secret is playing padel three times a week and exercising every day.
The former footballer also revealed about training with his wife. 'I've been trying to get Victoria to work out with personal trainer Bob Rich for years, and she finally agreed'. Currently, the two work out together 5-6 days a week. 'I love working out with Victoria. We tease each other a lot,' said Becks.
'She's not very good at listening to Bobby. She likes to do things her own way and doesn't like to rest. When asked to rest for 90 seconds, she's ready to do it again after 25 seconds,'
The once talented midfielder wants to celebrate his 50th birthday simply with all his close friends and 'good wine and food'.
