Xiaomi to bring Windows games to HyperOS tablets.

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro Plays Windows Games Smoothly Thanks to Xiaomi's New Proprietary Technology.

Xiaomi has just introduced WinPlay, a virtualization technology that enables AAA Windows games to be played on the Pad 6S Pro tablet running HyperOS.

WinPlay is a sophisticated compiler that allows Windows games to run on HyperOS - Xiaomi's customized version of Android - without an internet connection. The technology is based on Xiaomi HyperCore, the kernel of HyperOS, and is optimized for gaming.

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro tablet runs Windows games smoothly.

According to Xiaomi's software development director Zhang Guoquan, WinPlay offers an "incredible" experience with impressive performance, with only a 2.9% reduction in GPU performance. Users can download and play Windows games directly from Steam.

However, gaming performance on WinPlay cannot be compared to PC or console. For example, Tomb Raider (2013) only achieved a frame rate of 45FPS on the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro. However, this is still a big step forward in bringing the PC gaming experience to mobile devices.

WinPlay supports Bluetooth gaming peripherals such as keyboards, mice and controllers, especially optimized for Xbox controllers with haptic feedback. The multiplayer feature allows up to 4 players to play at the same time.

Currently, WinPlay is in beta and is only compatible with the 12.4-inch Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro running HyperOS 2 beta. Xiaomi has no plans to expand support to other devices yet.
