Galaxy S26 Ultra may have a variable aperture camera.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature a camera feature that was previously seen on the Galaxy S9 series.

Samsung is known for introducing groundbreaking features to its products but often abandoning them after a while. One of the features that could return to the Galaxy S26 Ultra's camera is variable aperture. According to popular leaker @IceUniverse, this feature is expected to be available only on the phone's main camera.

Huawei and Xiaomi have already adopted the variable aperture feature in their flagships, but they weren’t the first to introduce it. In fact, Samsung introduced dual aperture with the Galaxy S9 and S9+, allowing users to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4 depending on the lighting conditions.

The f/1.5 aperture setting lets in more light to the camera sensor, which reduces noise but results in a narrower field of view. On the other hand, the f/2.4 aperture is ideal for bright daylight conditions or when a wider field of focus is needed.

While the dual aperture feature was present in the Galaxy S10 series, Samsung decided to remove it in the Galaxy S20 series. However, it seems that the Korean company is planning to bring it back in the Galaxy S26 series.
