Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was said to have been hesitant to take his relationship with Vanessa Trump - President Donald Trump's ex-daughter-in-law further.
"At first he was hesitant because he had a good relationship with President Donald Trump, and wasn't sure if this would cause any problems. He saw her as a friend, they only talked about the children and kept things pretty normal. Then feelings started to develop on both sides," a source close to Tiger Woods shared.
News of Tiger Woods' relationship with Vanessa Trump emerged on Thursday. A source said the pair, who have been seeing each other since November, were "not too serious" but that their relationship was "working".
"They have a lot in common. They're both used to public scrutiny. They're both private. They're both parents," the source added. The pair "are very compatible" because of their calm personalities, shared values and a desire to avoid drama. The source added that the 49-year-old golfer has "always tried to date girls who weren't right for him".
"Vanessa Trump isn't fazed by the golf legend's fame, she would date him even if he wasn't famous. Fame doesn't interest her; that's what he likes most about her... We'll see how it goes," the source said.
Details about Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump's relationship are unclear, but both stars live in Florida. Vanessa Trump's eldest daughter, Kai Trump, is also a golfer. The 17-year-old has committed to the University of Miami and will play golf for the school.
Kai reportedly attends the same school as Tiger Woods' children, Sam, 17, and Charlie, 16, at Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida.
Vanessa Trump has shown her interest in Woods on social media. She has "liked" several of Woods' social media posts over the past few months, including photos and videos with his kids and a special tribute to his mother, Kultida Woods, who passed away in February.
Vanessa and President Donald Trump's eldest son, Don Jr., were married in 2005 and had three children together before announcing their separation in 2018. Tiger Woods and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren divorced in 2009 after having two children.
