Katy Perry and five other women are excitedly preparing for a historic space flight next week. The 40-year-old singer will travel to the edge of space on the New Shepard spacecraft operated by billionaire Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin. The event will also mark the first all-female crew to fly into space since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova's solo flight in 1963.

Former TV host Lauren Sánchez - billionaire Jeff Bezos' fiancee, who will accompany Katy Perry on the flight - also promised to wear makeup: "Who doesn't want to look pretty before flying?" The 55-year-old star said she would use eyelash glue to ensure that her eyelashes don't fall off during the weightless flight.

Aisha Bowe - a former NASA engineer - shared about the upcoming flight: "I also want to try my own hair and make sure everything is okay. I skydived in Dubai with the same hair to test it out."

Amanda Nguyen - a Vietnamese American scientist studying the universe - emphasized the importance of image representation in this event: "There will be a combination of engineers, scientists with beauty and fashion. We converge many things. Women are very versatile. I will wear lipstick."

Six female passengers Katy Perry, Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen and Kerianne Flynn pose for a photo together before the trip.

According to Nypost, the crew members will also be able to bring some personal items on the journey. Aisha Bowe will carry the flag from the "Apollo 12 mission to the moon" on this space flight. Lauren Sánchez will bring a stuffed animal from a children's book she wrote, and journalist Gayle King plans to bring music to the stars. Katy Perry wants to bring a life-giving object to remind her of the preciousness of Earth.

The flight that took off from Van Horn, Texas on April 14 was the 11th passenger flight and the 31st flight in the history of New Shepard. The flight will last 11 minutes, reaching an altitude of about 105 km above the ground, crossing the Kármán line - the boundary between Earth's atmosphere and space. Passengers will experience a few minutes of weightlessness and have the opportunity to see the Earth through the cabin window. This trip is not only a journey to explore space, but also an opportunity to conduct some scientific experiments in cooperation with universities and scientific research groups.
