Reality TV star Michael Lohan, father of Lindsay Lohan, has been sentenced to prison for domestic violence while on probation.
According to Page Six, a judge in Palm Beach, Florida, made the decision on April 23. Michael, 64, was sentenced to nine months in the county jail.
Michael Lohan pleaded guilty to violating his probation and did not ask for a reduced sentence. He was arrested in February for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife, Kate Major. The 42-year-old journalist, who has two sons with Michael, had previously reported to police that her ex-husband had abused her at their Texas home. Investigators found bruises on Major's body.
Lindsay's father was already on probation for four years starting in 2022 for accepting bribes to broker patients. According to court records, Michael illegally accepted at least $25,000 in kickbacks to get addicts, including a woman he was having an affair, into a Florida drug treatment center. “Patient brokering corrupts the health care system because decisions are driven by greed rather than the needs of patients,” Palm Beach County District Attorney Dave Aronberg said.
Lindsay and Kate Major were married in 2014 but divorced in 2018. During their four years together, they had several disagreements.
Michael Lohan was born in 1960 and is an American reality TV actor. He was married to dancer and singer Dina Lohan from 1985 to 2007, and they had four children together. Their eldest daughter is the famous actress Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay and her father's relationship was quite tense and complicated for many years, but they recently reconciled after Lindsay settled down in Dubai. Last year, she invited her parents and siblings to the premiere of Irish Wish in New York, where the whole family was seen getting along.
