US First Lady Melania impressed with her stylish style when wearing a long leopard-print coat at an awards ceremony on April 1.
Attending the International Women of Courage Awards at the US State Department headquarters in Washington DC, Mrs. Melania wore a calfskin coat with a prominent print, a waist-hugging belt and elegant pointed-toe high heels.
The choice of clothing of the wife of President Donald Trump received many compliments from the public. Melania's dress was designed by American designer Milly Park, which debuted on the runway last month and cost $11,000. In an interview with WWD, Milly said she sent the dress along with "two other special items" to the Mar-a-Lago estate as a gift for the First Lady in December 2024. "I was so honored and surprised that she wore my outfit. It's something to celebrate," the designer said.
The International Women of Courage Awards (IWOC) are an annual award presented by the US State Department to women around the world who demonstrate leadership, courage and advancement of women's rights. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that since 2007, the IWOC has honored more than 200 women "for their efforts to promote peace, prosperity and human rights in communities and countries around the world".
Joining Mr. Rubio in presenting the awards to eight women this year, Melania gave her second public speech as First Lady of the United States since Mr. Trump's inauguration in January. "Today we celebrate courage - a power based on love," the 55-year-old former model said. She also praised women who spoke up for justice, encouraging everyone to come forward.
