The single-person Airbike from Poland's Volonaut promises to be a breakthrough in personal air travel, Interesting Engineering reported on May 3. Powered by a jet engine, the vehicle can carry one person at speeds of up to 200 km/h.

Volonaut says the Airbike's proprietary balance system, supported by a flight control computer, provides autonomous hovering and ease of control for the rider. Using high-grade carbon fiber, 3D printing, and a minimalist approach, the Airbike is seven times lighter than a conventional motorcycle.

The Airbike has a unique riding position with unobstructed 360-degree visibility, allowing the rider to quickly master the flying vehicle and giving them a sense of complete freedom. Thanks to its extremely compact size and lack of rotating propulsion, the vehicle can easily move through the narrowest areas.

Unlike the Jetson ONE, the Airbike uses an open-air layout, without a frame surrounding the rider. The machine also leans forward instead of the reclining seating position found in electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles. In the introductory video, businessman and inventor Tomasz Patan pilots the flying machine through the air, gliding through a valley and flying around a forest. The Airbike moves through the forest canopy and dry lakebed, taking off and landing without assistance.

However, Volonaut has kept details about the Airbike's propulsion system and price under wraps. According to Robb Report, the vehicle doesn’t look as flashy as some other flying bikes like the XTurismo or Razor Flying Motorcycle, but it could be one of the first to go into service. In March 2025, the first production version of the Jetson ONE, which shares some of the same features as the Airbike, also completed its first flight. The Jetson ONE flies with good balance and has no problems landing with its eight powerful motors and eight thrusters.
