Redmi has just announced the launch of the K80 Ultra smartphone to expand its high-end K-series product line.
The Redmi K80 Ultra brings many improvements in display, cooling system, sound, and battery, but the selling price is extremely affordable.
The product has a 6.83-inch flat OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The screen uses M9 luminescent material that supports a maximum brightness of up to 3,200 nits. In addition, Xiaomi has integrated 2560Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming technology, DC dimming, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ certification. The display is also protected by tempered glass and has a TÜV low blue light certification to ensure eye health.
In terms of performance, the Redmi K80 Ultra is equipped with MediaTek's 3nm Dimensity 9400+ chip, combined with the Immortalis-G925 GPU for an AnTuTu score of more than 3.24 million to become the highest-performing smartphone in this segment. The device is also equipped with a new D2 AI display chip to support frame interpolation and game upscaling. For heat management, the phone uses an IceLoop 3D vapor chamber with a two-layer design for effective heat dissipation.
The Redmi K80 Ultra runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2, which promises to bring system optimization and improved fluidity thanks to AI.
Key specifications of the Redmi K80 Ultra.On the back of the Redmi K80 Ultra is a dual camera system, including a 50MP Light Hunter 800 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The 20MP selfie camera on the front is capable of recording 1080p video at 60fps, while the rear camera supports video recording up to 8K.
In terms of battery, the Redmi K80 Ultra has a large 7410 mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging with Bypass Charging Plus technology to reduce heat when used for a long time. According to Xiaomi, the battery can provide up to 2.26 days of use under normal conditions.
In terms of sound quality, the K80 Ultra is equipped with dual symmetrical 1115 coaxial speakers and an ultra-wideband haptic motor for a vivid sound experience. The phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, infrared scanner, USB-C port, and is IP68/IP69 dust and water resistant. Security is ensured through a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the screen.
Redmi K80 Ultra has 4 color options: Gray, White, Green, and Blue, along with 5 hardware configuration options. The product is priced from 360 USD for the 12/256 GB configuration to 530 USD for the 16 GB/ 1 TB configuration. At present, Redmi K80 Ultra is available in the Chinese market, and its global release plan is unknown.
