Xiaomi MIX Flip can compete against Samsung and Motorola.

Xiaomi has officially entered the clamshell folding screen smartphone market with the appearance of MIX Flip.

Starting from the external display, the MIX Flip measures 4.01 inches on par with the Motorola Razr+ 2024 as the largest display in its class. Xiaomi calls this “All Around Liquid” external display that offers a 16:9 active area to run full apps or simply place widgets.

The 4,780 mAh battery is also very large compared to the segment, although not the largest. This is also the smartphone model with the fastest charging speed with 67W HyperCharge technology.

When opening MIX Flip, users will see another large screen, which is a 6.86-inch OLED screen with a 120 Hz scan rate and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. The phone comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip combined with an impressive 3500mm2 vapor chamber cooling system.

Xiaomi equips the external screen of MIX Flip with a 50 MP dual camera system, in which the main camera is 50 MP f/1.7 with pixels when combined reaching 1.0µm and dynamic range of 13.5 stops, and the second camera is 50 MP f/ 2.0 with 46mm focal length or 2x zoom. The product comes with a floating lens, meaning it can focus as close as 9cm.

To provide flexibility in using the camera on MIX Flip at any angle from 45 degrees to 135 degrees, Xiaomi has equipped the product with a mechanical hinge.

Finally, the Xiaomi MIX Flip is available in Black, White, Purple and a special Nylon fiber version. Users have configuration options of 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB and 16 GB/1 TB with a starting price of 5,999 yuan.

This is a very competitive price compared to competitors on the market such as Galaxy Z Flip6 and Motorola Razr+ (2024). This can make MIX Flip more attractive, especially when looking at the product's hardware configuration, which is not inferior.
