US - Actress Angelina Jolie said one of her sons has taken over her apartment in New York but did not reveal specifics.
In an interview with the New York Times this week, Angelina Jolie said her son moved into the house she bought when he was in his 20s. "The other day I said I was going to stop by, and he said, 'Mom, can I have a day to clean up?'" Angelina laughed, adding: "I appreciate that. But I don't know how bad it is."
Angelina said the apartment was also a "temporary shelter" for her five other children when they arrived in New York. The Maleficent star and her children currently live in Los Angeles in a large $25 million mansion.
The 49-year-old star did not reveal which son, Maddox, 23, or Pax Thien, 21, is living in the apartment. Maddox, who studied abroad in South Korea, is currently pursuing a career as a pilot. He rarely appears in public, although he has participated in several film projects with his mother. Meanwhile, Pax works as a studio assistant and game artist, often in Los Angeles. The youngest son, Knox, 16, still lives with his mother and siblings.
It is unclear whether Angelina Jolie plans to buy another property in New York after giving the house to her children. In the past two years, the actress has spent a lot of time in the city, producing Broadway plays and running her fashion company Atelier Jolie.
In 2024, Angelina revealed that she wants to move out of Los Angeles and live abroad when her two youngest children turn 18. The star told Hollywood Reporter that she will spend more time in Cambodia and other places around the world. Cambodia holds a special place in Angelina's heart because it is where she adopted her eldest son Maddox and filmed two installments of Tomb Raider in the early 2000s.
