The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max duo are said to have many important upgrades in design, battery, and cooling system.
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are expected to launch in September and a series of information about Apple's most premium phone line of the year has been leaked.
Aluminum frame
TF Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo cited supply chain sources as saying that the iPhone 17 Pro will return to an aluminum frame, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models will feature a titanium frame, while the iPhone X to iPhone 14 Pro models will feature a stainless-steel frame. The back of the device is expected to have a part aluminum and part glass, which is completely different from before.
Rectangular camera cluster
According to "rumor expert" Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro series will use a large rectangular camera cluster with rounded corners. Apple still retains the triangular arrangement of the three rear cameras, but the lidar sensor and LED flash are moved to the right.
Vapor chamber cooling system
After upgrading the cooling system with new materials on the iPhone 16, some sources said that Apple will add vapor chamber cooling technology, with the same operating mechanism as many current Android phone models, to improve performance for the iPhone 17 Pro generation.
Camera resolution increases
Apple continues to upgrade the telephoto lens of the 17 Pro line to 48 megapixels, meaning that all three rear cameras of the device will have the same resolution. Meanwhile, the front camera of all four new generation iPhone models is also upgraded to 24 megapixels, double the 12 "dots" of the iPhone 16.
12 GB RAM
According to Apple Insider, the two Pro versions have upgraded RAM from the current 8 GB to 12 GB to improve Apple Intelligence performance as well as increase multitasking capabilities. The device also uses the A19 Pro chip with higher performance, manufactured on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process.
Larger battery
The thickness of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to be 8.72 mm, up from 8.25 mm of the 16 Pro Max. According to some sources, this adjustment helps add 400 mAh to the product's battery capacity.
