MU goalkeeper's wife devastated after being robbed of handbag and watch.

Melanie Kamayou - wife of Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana - has cancelled a business trip to Cameroon after her handbag and luxury watch were stolen in Cheshire on 29 March.

Melanie Kamayou was robbed of her £62,000 Hermes Birkin handbag and Rolex watch outside an Italian restaurant last weekend. A source close to the incident said Melanie was devastated by the incident. She had planned to fly back to Cameroon the following day to oversee her business but was forced to cancel.

The suspect, 25-year-old Liam Ross, of Bradford, was charged with robbery with a high value. Ross appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday, also facing a charge of supplying cannabis. He will return to Chester Crown Court in May.

Melanie went public with her relationship with Onana in 2019. She is a social media star with nearly 72,000 followers on Instagram. Onana's wife often posts pictures of herself showing off her luxury items. She also has a PhD in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the US. Melanie is also co-chair of the Andre Onana Foundation, a charity that supports children.

Melanie and Onana went through a difficult period together in 2021 when the goalkeeper was embroiled in a doping controversy. While at Ajax, Onana was found to have used the banned substance furosemide and was banned for a year by UEFA. However, the ban was reduced to nine months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after he claimed he had accidentally taken his pregnant wife's medication instead of a headache medication.

The couple married in 2023 and have a son. They live in Alderley Edge, an area that has attracted many Premier League stars in the past.

Andre Onana was born in 1996 and is a Cameroonian goalkeeper. He grew up in the Barca youth team, then played for Inter Milan and then moved to MU in 2023. The Manchester team is going through a difficult period as it struggles in the bottom half of the Premier League table. Tonight, the Red Devils host city rivals Man City in round 31 of the Premier League.
