On May 6, Miss Slovakia announced her withdrawal from the Miss World 2025 contest to focus on her personal development and unfinished charity project.
The 24-year-old beauty Daniela Vojtasová wrote on Instagram: "Unfortunately, I will not be participating in the prestigious Miss World final this year. This was a joint decision between me and the Miss Slovakia organization a few months ago, and it was certainly not an easy decision."
Daniela explained that one of the reasons for canceling the Miss World contest was that the Miss Slovakia project was on hold, and they did not have an executive director. "I hope the project will soon return and continue to develop. I also want to continue learning, working, and improving myself. That is why I decided to take this time to develop myself and the project, so that we can come back stronger," the beauty queen said.
Daniela Vojtasová said she would support and cheer on other beauty queens competing in Miss World from afar. On the same day, the Miss Slovakia organization reposted Daniela Vojtasová's announcement on Instagram Story as a confirmation.
In January, the Miss World homepage posted an article confirming that Daniela Vojtasová would represent Slovakia at this year's contest. She was introduced as having been crowned Miss Slovakia 2023, currently a marketing communications student, and a professional dancer.
This is the first time Slovakia has not had a contestant in Miss World since 1993. Many viewers were disappointed when Daniela Vojtasová decided to drop out of the contest at the last minute.
The 72nd Miss World will take place from May 7 to 31 in Telangana, India. This year, the pageant will feature 108 contestants from around the world. Miss Ý Nhi is the Vietnamese contestant. The reigning Miss World, Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic, will crown her successor in the finals.
