Apple may change iPhone launch roadmap from 2026: iFan prepares for a series of big changes.

Apple is expected to launch only three iPhone models in September starting in 2026, while the standard version will be introduced early next year.

Ming-chi Kuo, a famous analyst at TF Securities, said that in September, Apple will announce four versions of the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the ultra-thin 17 Air (or Slim). Meanwhile, the "cheap" iPhone 17e will be launched in early 2026.

However, in September 2026, the company will only announce the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and 18 Air/Slim, while the standard iPhone 18 will appear with the iPhone 18e in early 2027.

Similarly, in the fall of 2027, Apple will launch the iPhone 19 Pro, 19 Pro Max, 19 Air/Slim, and the foldable phone iPhone Fold. The standard iPhone 19 will go on sale the following year.

According to Mr. Kuo, Apple applies the roadmap to release iPhone twice a year to "balance" between the first and second half of the year, to deal with fierce competition from Chinese rivals.

"Android manufacturers usually launch new versions in the first half of the year. By introducing new iPhones at this time, Apple can narrow the marketing gap and increase competition," he wrote. "Apple tends to release more iPhone models, but putting them all in September risks diluting marketing efforts."

Apple has not commented.

According to GizChina, if the above information is correct, this will be a major change in Apple's product launch strategy. "Under this plan, the iPhone will be classified into clearer segments. Launching in both spring and fall will help the company have a stronger presence in the market throughout the year," the site commented.
