The Meta CEO caught the eye when he landed a red helicopter on the deck of his £220 million superyacht in Alepochori, Greece. Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg wore a white T-shirt and turquoise shorts, then hopped on another boat with his friends to go out to sea for some fun.
The Facebook co-founder's superyacht is called Launchpad, according to the Daily Mail. The nearly 400-foot-long vessel was built by Feadship and includes a support vessel called Wingman.
Mark Zuckerberg went on vacation days after rapper Eminem accused Meta of distributing his music without a valid license. Eight Mile Style, the company that owns Eminem's hit songs, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Michigan, accusing Zuckerberg's company of storing and distributing the music without a license.
The lawsuit seeks at least $109 million in damages and asks the court to stop copyright infringement. According to the lawsuit, Meta has created and stored copies of the music for use by billions of users. Meta's music library includes 243 songs controlled by Eight Mile Style.
Meta is accused of reproducing and distributing the music after negotiations with Eight Mile Style over licensing fell through as part of a 2020 agreement with Audiam, a digital music royalty collection company. The lawsuit adds that Meta profits financially from allowing users to access these works.
Although the company began removing some of Eminem’s songs when the licensing issues were discovered, the lawsuit claims that many karaoke and instrumental versions remain on the platform. Eight Mile Style is seeking $150,000 per song on each platform and wants the case to be heard by a jury.
