Actor Julian McMahon - famous for 'Fantastic Four' and 'Charmed' - passed away on July 2 in Florida after a quiet battle with cancer, at the age of 56.
The actor's wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed the sad news to Deadline. "It is with an open heart that I want to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, passed away peacefully this week after a courageous battle with cancer."
Kelly said Julian McMahon loved life, his family, friends, work, and fans. "His deepest desire was to bring joy to as many people as possible," she shared.
Julian McMahon was born in 1968 in Sydney, the son of former Australian Prime Minister Billy McMahon. He began his modeling and acting career in his home country, notably playing Ben Lucini in the series Home and Away (1990 - 1991). He then moved to the US to develop his career, quickly achieving success in both television and film.
In television, he made an impression with the role of Cole Turner in the series Charmed (1998 - 2003) - an anti-hero character loved by audiences. His next breakthrough role was Dr. Christian Troy in the series Nip/Tuck (2003 - 2010), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2005. Julian also participated in the series FBI (2019 - 2021) and FBI: Most Wanted (2020 - 2022).
In cinema, the actor appeared in two Fantastic Four films, playing the villain Doctor Doom. Julian's last film was The Surfer, co-starring Nicolas Cage. The actor last appeared on the red carpet on March 10 in Austin, Texas, where he premiered The Surfer at the SXSW Film & Television Festival.
Julian McMahon was divorced from Australian singer Dannii Minogue and Baywatch actress Brooke Burns before marrying Kelly Paniagua in 2014. He has a daughter, Madison Elizabeth McMahon, 25, with his second wife.
