Miss Scotland appears in court for biting and abusing security guard.

Lucy Thomson, Miss Scotland 2022, has been fined nearly £800 and stripped of her crown after biting two security guards while drunk.

The 26-year-old beauty was tried at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on March 21, according to the Telegraph. She was found guilty of assaulting two security guards and making racist remarks towards one of them. Lucy Thomson was fined a total of £790 (VND 20 million), to be paid within two months.

The incident occurred on 17 June 2023 at Peffermill Stadium, Edinburgh during a rugby match. According to the indictment, the beauty queen bit security guard Andrew Okpaje on the hand and used racist abuse when she was asked to leave the stadium for being drunk. She also bit a second security guard and shouted: "Do you know who I am? I have a lot of money in my account".

After Andrew Okpaje reported the incident to the police, Lucy Thomson - then the reigning Miss Scotland - was arrested. A video of Lucy and her sister being dragged out of the stadium by security guards was posted on social media. Miss Scotland's Wikipedia page says the beauty was stripped of her crown after her arrest.

Lucy Thomson and her sister were removed from the stadium for being drunk.

At the two-day trial on Friday, Okpaje, 26, said he was called to deal with a drunk woman at 7pm. Okpaje was shocked when Lucy bit him and hurled a racial slur and curse at him. "I hadn't heard that word in a long time. It was horrible," Okpaje said. Co-worker Alasdair Doolan also testified in court, claiming Lucy bit him on the hand.

Okpaje accused the beauty queen of biting his hand and using abusive language.

Lucy Thomson denied the allegations. She said she was invited to the event as an "ambassador" and promoted the rugby tournament on her social media accounts. The beauty queen claimed she had only had two glasses of cider and acted in self-defence after seeing her sister "cornered" by security. She also denied being stripped of her Miss Scotland crown, claiming she had "handed over the title" in September 2023. However, after reviewing the evidence, the judge concluded that Lucy's claims were "completely unreasonable".

Lucy Thomson is from Crossford - a small village in west Fife, Scotland. She was crowned Miss Scotland in July 2022. At the time, Lucy was a fashion entrepreneur and social activist, having founded the charity World of BRAvery in 2020 to help disadvantaged women.
