Motorola Razr Plus (2025) with Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 4,275 mAh battery and 50 MP camera promises to be a formidable competitor in the foldable phone segment.
Recently, information about the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, also known as Razr Plus (2025) in the US market, has been widely reported. The Razr (2025) product line has been spotted in the certification database, showing the premium model with a wood finish and revealing some specifications of the more affordable version.
In terms of design, the Razr Plus (2025) will retain the same 6.96-inch foldable OLED display and 4-inch outer display as its predecessor. However, internally, this product will have many significant upgrades compared to the Razr Plus (2024).
Notably, Motorola has equipped the Razr Plus (2025) with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, one of the most powerful processors today, similar to the one found on flagship Android phones like the Galaxy S25. Not only the processor, RAM and storage will also be improved. The Razr Plus (2025) is expected to come in four RAM options, including 8GB, 12GB, along with new 16GB and 18GB variants. In terms of storage, users will have four options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. However, these specifications are currently only confirmed for the Chinese version, so it is not yet clear which options will be available globally.
In addition, the battery capacity of the Razr Plus (2025) may also be significantly upgraded. The phone could feature two battery cells with a capacity of 1,090 mAh and 3,185 mAh, totaling at least 4,275 mAh, which translates to around 4,500 mAh in real-world calculations. Compared to the current model with a 4,000 mAh battery, the Razr Plus (2025) would have a clear advantage in battery life, especially if Samsung doesn't upgrade the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
In terms of charging speed, the Razr Plus (2025) is said to support 68W wired charging, while Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 6 only stops at 25W.
The Razr Plus (2025)'s camera will also be upgraded, with the internal sensor expected to increase to 50 MP, while the current model has a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP 2x telephoto camera, and a 32 MP internal camera.
Motorola is expected to launch the Razr Plus (2025) earlier than the usual June time, although the exact date has not been announced. If Motorola keeps the $999 price tag, the Razr Plus (2025) promises to be a strong contender for those looking for a clamshell foldable phone.
