The facelifted Land Rover Defender has been revealed, and it's got a host of changes.
The iconic Land Rover Defender SUV has been updated across the 90, 110 and 130 body styles, with subtle styling and technology changes. On the outside, the Defender bumpers have been given a facelift in either Silicon Silver or Carpathian Grey Satin finishes.
There's also a new textured pattern for the bonnet inserts and side vents, while all models get gloss black Defender-branded centre caps.
Land Rover notes that gloss black grille bars are now standard, complemented by darkened oval badging. There are also new headlights with revised graphics, while the taillights are finished in a darkened finish. The paint and wheel options have also been expanded with more choices.
Inside, you'll find a larger 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, up from the previous 11.4-inch screen. This screen completely fills the gap between the centre console and the top of the dashboard.
The centre console has also been revised to incorporate a sliding section to hide small items out of sight in a hidden compartment, while passengers can still access the deeper storage compartment below.
For the first time, the latest Defender can be had with Adaptive Terrain Cruise Control, which automatically adjusts speed to maintain the desired level of comfort over rough surfaces. At the request of regulators, a driver-facing camera on the steering column will activate the Driver Attention Monitor function to ensure the occupant is paying attention to the road ahead.
Land Rover hasn't announced which powertrains will be available for the updated Defender, although it has confirmed that a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 630bhp will be one of the available options. The pre-facelift model is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged I6 diesel, a 2.0-litre petrol plug-in hybrid and a 5.0-litre petrol turbocharged V8.
